The necessary vehicle equipment is still an unsolved mystery for many drivers. Only few are able to name what they should really carry in their car, what may be useful to them, e.g. in the event of a vehicle breakdown or an accident. Some car accessories must be included in the car's equipment, as stated in the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure of December 31, 2002. Failure to provide any of them may result in a fine ranging from PLN 20 to PLN 500.
We pay attention not only to mandatory car accessories, but also to those that, although not required by legal regulations, improve driving safety and comfort.
Warning triangle and fire extinguisher
It turns out that when it comes to mandatory car accessories, the law is very kind to Polish drivers. The act actually only mentions two pieces of equipment that must be included in all vehicles traveling on Polish roads. These are warning triangle i fire extinguisher with a minimum capacity of 1 kg.
First-aid kit
The surprising fact is that first aid kit is not a mandatory car accessory. However, there is a lot of talk about how important it is to have it in the car, because in many situations it can even save a human life. The medicine cabinet includes, among others: should include: plasters with dressings, a triangular scarf, an elastic bandage, compresses for wounds, vinyl gloves and first aid instructions. It is best to choose a first aid kit marked with the DIN13164 standard.
Car tow rope
We never know when we or other road users will need it. Tow rope allows you to tow the vehicle, but remember that towing the car on the highway is prohibited. It is good if it has a pulling force of 2500 - 3500 kg and must be at least 4 meters long.
Breathalyzer
It is increasingly considered by drivers as an essential equipment for every vehicle. Breathalyzer allows you to verify the amount of alcohol in the exhaled air. It is perfect for holiday trips, camping and weekend rest with friends by the lake. With its help, you can perform the test yourself and verify whether you can get behind the wheel safely and without any worries.
Jumper cables
A discharged battery is a common problem for drivers. Imagine a situation when, after a night spent in a tent, you want to return home, and your car refuses to obey you and does not want to cooperate with you. The battery usually discharges in winter, but the problem should not be identified only with this time of year. Before you encounter such an unpleasant surprise, equip your car with: jumper cables allowing you to start the vehicle with a discharged battery.
Car blood pressure monitor
Appropriate tire pressure not only affects driving economy, but also safety. We don't always have the opportunity to check the pressure at a gas station, and we often use the excuse that we don't have time. Car blood pressure monitor is a small device with which you can check everywhere whether it is necessary to inflate the tires and correct any irregularities.
Flashlight and work gloves
Minor repairs under the hood require good visibility, and not every area is adequately lit. It is worth having a small flashlight in the glove compartment of your car, which will allow you to both verify the fault and eliminate some irregularities. The flashlight will also be useful when traveling, in a private workshop and at home.
And work gloves? Grease, oil and other dirt in your car shouldn't surprise anyone. Work gloves protect your hands not only against dirt during minor repairs, but also against abrasions and cuts.
