Refreshing mask for the car's complexion - which wax should you choose?

Car paint is exposed to many external factors. In fact, I don't know what's worse - low temperatures and a layer of ice forming, or the sun's rays, acid rain or sap dripping from flowering trees. This list includes organic dirt - which we have already mentioned on the blog - and smaller or larger mechanical damage. No matter how you look at it, the basis for protecting the paint coating is thorough waxing of the body at least once a year. However, this does not exempt us from systematic care in the so-called meantime. There is always something to improve. In the summer I use wet wax.
How to start applying wax?
The answer is probably all too obvious. From thorough washing car body car. Apart from the "bigger issues", we cannot always see a thin layer of dust with the naked eye. This will act like fine-grained sandpaper when rubbing the wax. Brrr…
From early spring to late autumn, I definitely choose a manual car wash (frequent contact of the paint with rapidly rotating brushes in an automatic car wash is not recommended). Depending on the degree and type of dirt, I use pre-soaking. These include a preparation for removing insects and difficult dirt as well as a liquid for cleaning rims - but I will discuss their care in the next entry. Then, usually a quick shower, a shampoo program (I use my own, very soft sponge 😉) and final rinsing. I know my car perfectly and where dirt likes to hide, so skillful operation of the washer nozzle does the trick.

Now the blowers would come into action at the hand car wash station. When I take advantage of the nice weather, I will happily stay outdoors and remove water drops manually. At the same time spreading the wax over the body. The benefits are endless.
Which body wax should you choose?
Short and concise – good! The offer on the market is very large, first of all we eliminate all hard and pasty ones. Not this time, because now we're looking liquid wax for wet application. We can buy it in a bottle or an easy-to-use atomizer. Mark? I choose the one I already know from using other products. Is it coloring? In this case I stick with colorless.

The set requires a soft cloth, preferably made of microfiber. The same as those that have already helped us with car care.
From matte to deep gloss
The advantage of wet wax is that we do not have to wipe the bodywork after washing. We start with the roof, then the hood and trunk lid, fenders and doors. Besides, the order on the sides is irrelevant. It is important to apply the wax systematically and in circular motions. We ignore the surfaces of windows, mirrors and light lenses, but we can safely apply it to bumpers and even lubricate rubber seals. There is no clear answer to the question whether we do it directly on the body or on a cloth. Both methods are good, although out of habit I choose the first one.

Another advantage of wet wax is its flexibility. The liquid simply easily gets into every crevice of the bodywork, and there are more and more of these fancy kinks these days. And there is no risk, as in the case of hard waxes or pastes, that we will not be able to wipe off the paste that is already drying.
For the final polishing I use a new cloth, the first one is not soaked with wax, but simply wet. We will see the final effect immediately. The color of our bodywork will become deeper, and we should see ourselves, the sky and the sun in the mirror reflection. Its rays will no longer be harmful to our car's paint (we should also use appropriate creams). And let's enjoy the coming summer!
