T(b)urgent issues with our car

A driver's life abhors a vacuum. In winter we complained about scraping windows and clearing snow from the car, but in spring and summer the problem is, hmm... let's call it organic compounds. If they dry, a brush with a bucket of water will not be enough, and the unremoved traces will have a harmful effect on the paint of our car.
Trees and birds
In many entries on this blog, we have discussed the topic of systematically keeping your car clean. We've had a thorough winter wash and a spring lift, but the effects quickly disappear. All you need are a few trees blooming nearby or birds hanging out nearby. Their presence is marked by organic traces that may react with paint coatings, plastics or rubber elements. So if we notice them, we should instinctively reach for a damp cloth and carefully fall asleep. I usually use for this car glass cleaning liquid, which is neutral in contact with various materials. Paper towels are best for wiping because they go straight to the trash after use. And so we can repeat the action day after day.
An effective preventive measure is to apply wax immediately after washing the car. You can also do it wet - spread it immediately and wipe it dry with a soft microfiber cloth (so there is no need for tedious polishing after applying the traditional paste). This additional layer should protect the paint on an ongoing basis and help you quickly get rid of these marks.

Insects
Unfortunately, that's not the end. Our next problem is the swarms (literally) of insects whose remains stick to the front of the car while driving. Here we also have to act quickly, and our helper will be a special one preparation for removing insects. Its properties will cope with these specific marks, although after a long ride on a sunny day it may require additional treatments.

In such a situation, I go to the car wash. Preferably manually, because by directing the water stream to a specific place, we will achieve the desired effect faster. We often have to overcome numerous bends and recesses in the bumper, headlight frames, protective strips and radiator grille patterns. Before doing so, I cover the dirty elements with the above-mentioned insect removal liquid. It is ideal if the car wash is equipped with an active or three-color foam program. This is a kind of pre-soaking before the main wash.

Finally, it won't hurt to reapply a layer of wax and shine the rubbers and plastics with an appropriate preparation.
Tar and resin
Hot asphalt in summer can leave tiny black dots on the car's body and bumper. Unfortunately, these are even more difficult to remove. What's worse, the next place they "favour" are the rims. I especially feel sorry for those made of light alloys. Additionally, their openwork pattern also shows traces of brake pad dust.
Therefore, during the above-mentioned visit to the car wash, I also use preparation for removing tar and resin and for cleaning car rims. At the same time, I am in compliance with environmental protection, because all washing stations must be connected to a closed circuit collecting pollutants for later disposal.

With each of these activities, let's take care of the windshield. While driving, I use windshield wipers, so before a long journey it is worth checking and adding windshield washer fluid. In turn, when I'm parked, I clean the glass surfaces in places that are not covered by the wiper blades. Anyway, when I go to the car wash, I spray them with liquid, my last choice is the one with the additive ammonia.
We can say that our car is clean and shiny again, the question is for how long?
