Spring has already settled in our country. Although we are observing weather breakdowns, the mercury in thermometers remains at a decent level. It's the perfect time to wash. You need to remember that the warmer it gets, the greater the temptation to go out of town or go on weekend trips, and in the near future we will start dreaming about holidays.

All right, how to wash a car? Personally, I start my spring cosmetics with a thorough wash of the car's underbody. For this purpose, it is worth using the appropriate program at an automatic car wash. Pressure washing will rinse out the remains of sand and, above all, the coating of road dust. The same should be done with the rims, which can be additionally washed with a special preparation and wiped dry.
Spring car washing should be adapted to travel, which may, however, cause defects in the maintenance coating of the chassis. Once it is broken, the chassis begins to corrode very quickly. This is because the damaged coating exposes the metal chassis, which, even if galvanized, will eventually corrode. Therefore, after the winter period and when preparing your car for spring, you should keep this in mind. If damage to the coating is found, it should be regenerated immediately. You can do it yourself if you have the necessary tools and skills. However, it is known that it is best to take the car to a specialist workshop.
Washing the car undercarriage
The tires themselves also require care. The optimal situation is to wash them during seasonal replacement. Before storing them - in this case winter ones - I apply tire preparation to their surface, and after they dry I put them in plastic bags. If they are just tires, they must be stacked on top of each other, I have a set with rims, so I put them one next to the other. More or less before the holidays I will rearrange them in places. You should also not forget about blackening freshly installed tires for the summer season. Tire blackening agent is perfect for this purpose. This will make the rubber regain its elasticity that it lost due to being stored over the winter. In addition, regular blackening of tires will slightly extend their service life, but above all, keep them in excellent technical condition.

Body washing
Spring car washing also includes washing the body, but before washing the body I remove silicone residues from rubber seals and spray the locks, door handles and hinges with a multi-functional preparation. Time for water, shampoo and a sponge. While I consider washing the chassis in an automatic car wash to be sufficient, in the case of the body, I prefer to do it manually.

In this case, car cosmetics manufacturers come to our aid and offer a wide range of shampoos. Is it worth choosing the one with wax? It all depends on our preferences, I prefer to apply wax and polish the paint coat separately. At the same time, it is easier to detect and smooth out small scratches. Spring car washing provides a lot of information, not only about minor scratches, which are especially common in winter. This is the period when you can take a closer look at the paintwork on the entire car. At this time, during washing, various paint defects, defects and traces of corrosion are revealed. Then they should be dealt with immediately.
The last activity is the final washing of the windows and headlights, or rather wiping them dry and pouring lukewarm windshield washer fluid. The headlight lenses should be washed and dried using soft cloths to prevent them from becoming dull. This applies to both front and rear lamps. Windshield washer fluid is used in accordance with the current season, i.e. summer.

The windows should also be washed from the other side. Frequent evaporation and even freezing from the inside leaves a permanent, although at first glance invisible, mark. This significantly contributes to poor vision of the road behind the driver.
To effectively dry the interior and windows, you need an efficient ventilation and air conditioning system. After winter, it is worth inspecting the installation and possibly replacing the coolant, but also refreshing the channels, wires and grilles. We can easily perform such activities ourselves, using appropriate antifungal and refreshing aerosols. I clean the dashboard with a plastic cleaner, and when it dries, I apply the preparation to the cockpit. We really have a wide choice here - I choose the matte cockpit.
Let's not be afraid to let in some fresh spring air. Let's open the door wide, let the upholstery and, above all, the floor covering dry. I take out the rubber mats earlier because... I change them depending on the season. In summer, those made of fabric will be appropriate, while in winter, rubber ones will be more practical. Two sets are not a major expense, and thanks to them we will gain a better atmosphere in the car.

Let's take this into account too
One frosty night was enough for the morning to start with problems with starting the car? In most cases, the cause was a discharged battery. Perhaps the problem was solved by recharging the battery or starting the engine using jumper cables. However, this should not lull our vigilance, battery problems may return when we least expect it. Even in the middle of summer! Therefore, let's draw conclusions from our winter "adventure" and check the charge status and battery life at a nearby workshop. The mechanic will also check the voltage of the entire installation and locate any power consumption points. It is worth carefully examining the technical condition of the battery. Why? Even though winter is over, the battery may fail even in spring or summer. In such a case, when the mechanic finds that the battery will still turn over, but... It is already clear that he cannot be trusted completely. It should be replaced with a new one at the earliest opportunity. This will save you from unexpected adventures, especially on the road.
