What harms the dashboard?
Harmful factors include heat, sunlight, oxygen, ozone, acids, alkalis, and aggressive media. We can find substances in the air such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, sulfur dioxide, sulfur trioxide, which, when combined with moisture, form strong inorganic acids. They settle on the cockpit surface, causing the degradation of the polymer chains of the plastic. All this leads to a process during which changes occur in the structure of the material. The result is a reduction in the molecular weight of the polymer. The first visible sign of these processes is a change in surface color, i.e. yellowing, lack of gloss, dullness.
